Recognizing Louisiana educators and inspiring excellence in the education profession
Dream Teachers is a nonprofit organization that works in partnership with the Louisiana State Department of Education and Board of Elementary and Secondary Education to celebrate Louisiana’s finest educators and educational leaders with the annual Teacher and Principal of the Year program. In just three short years, Louisiana’s program has become one of the top programs in the nation in how we recognize excellence in education.
Dream Teachers works toward realizing the following outcomes:
- Public recognition of Louisiana’s best and brightest education professionals, and creation of an educational network of outstanding educators who can support the efforts and practices of teachers in every corner of the state
- Involvement of policymakers and the business community in dialogue with these
outstanding educators - Advancing the cause for a quality teacher for every child in every classroom
